The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, has announced that the Tourism Institute of Spain (TURESPAÑA) has awarded the contract for the final phase of the Parador de Lorca and that their execution will start soon.
González Tovar added that this last phase corresponds to additional works of parking, the building of the chapel of San Cristobal and urbanization of the inn, and they include the enhancement and musealization of archaeological remains found in the area.
Likewise, works that have been awarded to the company ASSIGNIA Infrastructure in euros 5,081,380.04, including performances on the castle walls of Lorca and Alfonsina Tower.
On the project for the realization of these works, the government delegate recalled that the consensus was TURESPAÑA both the City Council and with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Moreover, Gonzalez Tovar stressed the importance of archaeological remains and in the interest of the Government of Spain for its conservation and because those were musealized in place so that those can be visited at the time by anyone who wishes, even without being a client of the inn.
The interest in these remains TURESPAÑA has been made keeping the same team of archaeologists who worked at the castle since 2002, in order to maintain uniformity of opinion.

Meeting place of three cultures
Finally, Gonzalez Tovar stressed that the measures envisaged in the final draft of the inn will enhance the historic site of the Castillo de Lorca, as a meeting place of three cultures, through conservation, enhancement and restoration of most significant remains Islamic, Jewish and Christian, which will be integrated throughout the Parador.
In the dining facility will be preserved Moorish remains, ie the Almohad wall, two tanks and other debris that is observed through a glass window from the dining room.

All this set will have a separate entrance so it can be used by the Jewish community and sightseeing.
